Artwork Guidelines

Providing clean, high-quality artwork helps us produce the best possible engraving, printing, cutting, and customization results. Review these guidelines before submitting your logo or design.

Preferred File Types

Vector Artwork

Vector artwork provides the cleanest and most scalable results. Preferred vector formats include:

  • SVG

  • AI

  • EPS

  • Vector PDF

A PDF file is not automatically vector artwork. The design inside the PDF must have been created and saved as vector artwork.

Raster Artwork

High-resolution PNG files may work for certain products and printing methods. PNG files should have a transparent background whenever possible and should be submitted at the largest available size.

JPG files may be accepted when they are high resolution, but they are not preferred because they usually contain a solid background and may lose quality when enlarged.

Artwork Recommendations

For the best production results:

  • Submit the highest-quality original file available.

  • Use a transparent background whenever possible.

  • Avoid screenshots, social-media downloads, and blurry images.

  • Convert fonts to outlines when submitting editable vector artwork.

  • Keep important details large enough to reproduce clearly.

  • Avoid extremely thin lines, tiny text, and overly complicated details.

  • Do not enlarge small raster images because enlargement does not restore lost quality.

Production-Method Guidelines

Laser Engraving

Engraving artwork normally works best as clean, high-contrast vector artwork. Fine shading, extremely small details, and certain color effects may need to be simplified before engraving.

Leather-Patch Hats

Patch designs must remain readable at the selected patch size. Small wording, thin lines, and highly detailed artwork may require adjustment or simplification.

Apparel Printing

High-resolution artwork with a transparent background is preferred. Full-color designs should be submitted at the intended print size whenever possible.

Stickers, Decals, UV DTF and Full-Color Printing

High-resolution artwork is required for clean printing. Designs requiring a specific cut shape may need an approved cut line or additional spacing around the artwork.

Signs & Business Printing

Vector artwork is preferred for logos, lettering, and large-format graphics. Business cards, brochures, banners, signs, and other printed materials should be submitted at the intended size with adequate resolution, bleed, and safe margins when applicable. We will confirm any product-specific specifications before production.

Promotional Products and Specialty Items

Artwork requirements vary by product, supplier, imprint area, and decoration method. We will confirm any product-specific requirements during the quoting and proofing process.

Colors and Product Materials

Colors may appear differently between computer screens, printed products, engraved materials, and product finishes. Exact color matching cannot always be guaranteed.

Engraved colors and contrast are created by the product’s coating, finish, and underlying material. The final result may vary slightly from digital mockups or previously produced items.

If accurate brand-color matching is important, provide the applicable Pantone, CMYK, RGB, or HEX color information with your artwork.

Proof Approval

A digital proof will be provided for applicable custom orders before production begins. Carefully review:

  • Spelling and grammar

  • Names and numbers

  • Product colors and quantities

  • Artwork placement

  • Design size and orientation

  • Requested customization details

Two standard proof-revision rounds are included when applicable. Major redesigns, logo creation, or extensive artwork recreation may require an additional fee.

Production begins after the final proof is approved. Freedomforge Custom Creations is not responsible for errors that were present in an approved proof.

Artwork Ownership and Permission

By submitting artwork, logos, photographs, names, trademarks, or other protected material, you confirm that you own the material or have permission to use it.

Freedomforge Custom Creations may refuse artwork that appears unauthorized, unlawful, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate for production.
